Every night he fixes supper while I work at the gym. I'm not talking about sandwiches and chips here. Pork chops and scalloped potatoes...grilled chicken...pancakes and bacon...it's always good! He checks the truck when I get home and goes to buy gas if I need it. He washes clothes...he pays bills.
This week has NOT been my week. March 1 is almost as hard as February 25th. We had a babysitting turnover and a gym turnover. I felt like I had a sign on that said "Kick me while I'm down!" But today was one of those days that I could just really think about how good Robbie is to me, and how good my life really is.
We got up this morning and, without discussing it, began cleaning. Robbie got breakfast started and cleaned out the refrigerator. I washed dishes and clothes. When we were done eating and doing dishes, Robbie asked what I needed to do. To be honest, I hesitated. I'm away so much, and work even at night. Finally I told him that I had some sewing I needed to do. No problem!! So I went to sew and left him to make himself happy. Imagine how surprised I was to come back in about lunch to find he had washed, dried, and folded clothes, finished the basketball goal, fed the dog, and remeasured the house for wood floors and tile. The man is amazing!!
Even more surprising...he was ready for us to go look at flooring again! Wow...two times in a year, and it's only March. Will wonders never cease? Talking about it as we rode, we decided to stop in Greenville and look at a small building supply store. We were pleasantly surprised to find a color we really liked. We decided that Robbie could check in Montgomery Monday, and did a little shopping and ate lunch in town.
Back home...back to sew. I know, I know...but I LOVE it. I had walked out to the den of thread and did not even notice it had started to rain REALLY hard. Then my phone rang. "Call me when you get ready to come home and I'll come get you." That's what Robbie said. How sweet is that? Yep, he is definitely the greatest husband in the world!
